Role Profile – Insurance Analyst

This is a unique opportunity to join a small but ambitious insurance consulting firm. As Angelica Solutions’ first recruit, from day one you will work closely with founder Sarah Vaughan to deliver insight and practical improvement plans to clients.

What can you expect?

• To be breaking down insurance business problems; identifying what data and insight is needed to make more effective decisions
• To be building data analysis and insightful data visualisations
• To be selecting and applying predictive modelling techniques
• To use actuarial techniques to model insurance prices and forecast claims development
• To be re-thinking business processes to create better customer and business outcomes
• To be combining your data analysis and modelling skills to make recommendations for change
• To be presenting your own conclusions
• A blend of time collaborating with clients and working independently

Why Angelica Solutions needs you

• Many clients have limited analytical resources of their own and Angelica Solutions wants to be able to help clients get insight from their data and make business decisions – decisions covering new product launches, proposition design, distribution strategy, pricing and more
• Angelica Solutions wants you to work with clients to define and build repeatable data interrogation processes and business-friendly data visualisations

What will you be rewarded with?

• £28k per annum starting salary

Skills you will need

• Curiosity, a desire to know ‘why’
• Exceptional numerical reasoning skills
• Logical reasoning skills
• Clear communication; an ability to make persuasive arguments
• An ability to make recommendations even in the absence of perfect data
• Organisation; an ability to organise your time, manage work-load and make records of your analysis

Desirable Qualifications/Experience

• A 2.1 or above in a numerical degree such as Maths, Physics, Chemistry etc
• A-level maths at grade A or above
• Desirable: Data processing in e.g. SQL, Python or similar
• Desirable: Data analysis in e.g. R or similar

Other Information
