Harnessing the Power of Your Data

Introducing Angelica

Angelica Solutions Services is an independent consultancy led by insurance professional, Sarah Vaughan. With over 17 years in UK General Insurance and a qualified actuary by trade, Sarah brings the power of data to life in a wide range of applications.

‘We are in the midst of an explosion of connected devices and an allied growth in available data. It has been said that few areas of life do not generate data that could be used to deliver value – from timely risk warnings to real-time capacity management, data has the power to help consumers and businesses alike. Forecasts suggest there will be nearly 42 bn connected things in use by 2025[1] and that the data created by these connected IoT devices will see a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 28.7% over 2018-2025. All businesses should be looking to capitalise on this.’

Data alone, however, does not create value. With hands-on expertise in monetising data, Sarah strongly believes that opportunities abound to use data and technology for better risk selection, risk management and broader business effectiveness – no matter what the industry.

The opportunities extend far beyond mere financials – executed well, data can power virtuous circles of value between consumer, business and society in applications such as road safety, insurance risk management and general service provision.
